About me

As a particularly versatile singer, Xin Wang has so far performed with orchestras such as the Sofia Philharmonic, the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Vienna Philharmonic, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, the Györ Philharmonic, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Strauss Festival Orchestra, the Schönbrunn Orchestra, the Ensemble Classico, the Muk Barockorchester, and the Shanghai Philharmonic. She has sung under renowned conductors such as Maurizio Barbacini, Myron Michailidis, Ahmed El Saedi, Niels Muus, Peter Guth, Yu Feng, and Leon Botstein...

Her repertoire on the concert podium includes, in particular, the works of Händel, Vivaldi, Mozart, Saint-Saëns, and Mahler, which she has performed in venues including Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Concert Hall, the Musikverein Graz, the Brucknerhaus, the Bulgaria Hall, the Cairo State Opera, the Odeion Salzburg, the Bruckner Festival, and the Grafenegg Festival.

On the opera stage, she recently enjoyed great success in Donizetti's "L’elisir D’amore" at the State Opera in Stara Zagora. She made her debut at this opera house as Alcina in Handel's opera of the same name. She celebrated further successes as Ilia in “Idomeneo” at the Akzent Theater in Vienna, as well as the third girl in “Möder, die Hoffung von Frauen” at the Grafenegg Festival, and as Mi in “Das Land des Lächelns” at the Stadttheater Bad Hall. Accompanied by the Summer Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic, she appeared as Fiordiligi in “Cosi fan tutte” at the Vienna Concert Hall, at the Brucknerfest Linz, and in the Stephanien Saal in Graz, and as Piacere in “Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” at the Odeion Salzburg and on the Linz Music Theater stage.

Xin Wang has won several international competitions. Among other achievements, she won first prize at the "1st International Opera Competition Hong Kong," second prize (the first was not awarded) at the "5th International Competition Giovani Musicisti" in Treviso (Italy), and third prize at the 16th International Singing Competition in Grosseto (Italy). She also received a special prize with a concert contract at the “Competizione dell’Opera” in the Brucknerhaus in Linz.

In 2022 she completed her debut album of art songs, including German and Chinese art songs, which was promoted by the Viennese record label Gramola. The album is a collaboration with Danish conductor Niels Muus.

Xin Wang received her education at the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna (studies with Prof. Linda Watson), the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz, and the China Central Conservatory of Music (studies with Prof. Guo Shu Zhen), where she completed her master’s degree with distinction. She also completed her Baroque vocal studies in the old music department of the Music and Art Private University of Vienna with Prof. Roberta Invernizzi.
